LEKI earns its name from its founder Karl Lenhart, and the German town in which it is headquartered, Kirchheim. Lenhart, with knowledge in aircraft construction and materials, created LEKI in 1970 to revolutionize the ski pole market with modern composites and processed aluminum. The German company follows a series of values, promoting the innovation that led them to develop the trigger system, folding poles, and more ergonomic grips. Today, the company remains entirely family owned, with a mission to adapt their poles, gloves, and other products to the needs of the public.
